Press Release from The Winding-Up Board of Glitnir

Yesterday in New York, Glitnir responded to the motions to dismiss the New York Complaint that Defendant Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson and his co-defendants filed in July. Glitnir reaffirmed in its response its strong commitment to pursuing the New York Complaint as part of its worldwide effort to recover assets for the Bank’s creditors.

As alleged in the New York Complaint, these assets were diverted from the Bank by the Defendants before it collapsed.

Glitnir’s responses include affidavits from some of Glitnir's former employees. Glitnir is committed to pursuing the architects of the scheme outlined in the New York Complaint and appreciates the support of Islandsbanki, and the truthful cooperation of those who worked at Glitnir.
